Throughout the growing season, you can expect to learn about how to plant, cultivate, harvest, and taste a diversity of school-grown organic foods. This edible school garden is rich with diversity and focuses on growing heirloom plant varieties as much as possible. The student-built school greenhouse is the "winter garden" used to help extend the growing season to better engage classes and grow foods during the school-year. The garden is an educational resource sustained only through volunteer support.
Want to help but need to make a more flexible time commitment?
We need volunteers, 1-1.5 hrs per week (One time or Regularly) to...
1) Be Weekend Waterers!
Come on your own schedule to water the garden and greenhouse… preferably in the morning or evening.
2) Keep Back the Grass!
Mow the lawn and trim grass around the greenhouse, garden fence, & shed. Make your own schedule.
3) Plant a Row for the Hungry!
July – Oct pick up garden produce set aside to be donated to Food Gatherers and deliver after our work days.
