We’ve got a lot on our plates and are hoping you can make time to help us in the coming months! We need help in a number of areas and on a number of levels, from joining us for a few hours in the sunshine, or taking on lead on a project of your own like brochure design, sponsor recruitment, or creating a healthy recipe book... we welcome and encourage your ideas and leadership!

School Garden Work Days

All Welcome! No Experience Necessary! Drop-in! Rain or Shine, dress for the weather!

Successful school gardens require community support. Please join in the fun caretaking an organic school garden this spring! The garden is used as an edible, educational, resource for students, teachers, and community members. A portion of the fresh produce is always donated to local food banks. Dress for the weather and prepare for muddy conditions. Garden is located on the top of the hill behind the Tappan Middle School

School Greenhouse

Skilled builders needed, on-going

As you may know, the frame of a large hoop-house, production-style greenhouse was erected this spring with Tappan students. We plan to start production in the greenhouse this late spring thanks to the dedicated professional volunteer support of Nick Durrie, of Durrie Design, and Diana Gordon’s Technology Education classes. We will work with students one the weather warms to cover the greenhouse with plastic and need volunteer adult hands to help with supervision during this exciting process! We also need some handy people to help with the final stages of the end wall construction or folks that might be able to help transport salvaged wood we are using for the interior raised beds.
